The client appointed Visual Thinking to develop the format and content for a new ‘Visual Merchandising Academy’. The brief was to equip the M&P UK VM and retail field management team with the knowledge, skills and processes to implement and manage best practice product presentation across their store network. The business had developed its VM and operational teams independently of each other, and there was now a need to bring everyone up to the same level of knowledge and develop a coherent, company-wide VM training strategy.
Visual Thinking designed and delivered a programme incorporating nine unique VM retail training modules covering all aspects of best practice in VM, store presentation, materials development and production. Delivery included facilitated group and one-to-one coaching sessions and ‘train the trainer’ workshops. The Visual Thinking in-house team also designed and developed a comprehensive range of supporting training materials, with versions formatted for both in-store print production and online learning, and produced in the Mamas and Papas brand style.
Initial feedback for the programme has been extremely positive. The formation of the Visual Merchandising Academy has effectively ‘raised the bar’ for Mamas & Papas’ visual merchandising, and equipped travelling VM teams with the skills and confidence to deliver effective VM training, coaching and development in-store.
The Mamas & Papas ‘Centre of Excellence’ programme is just one of many examples of Visual Thinking’s proven track record in effective VM training and coaching, providing their retail people with the right knowledge and skills to succeed.
