Visual Thinking has a long and successful relationship with Marks & Spencer International. We were therefore the first choice to develop a new e-learning project for their international franchise partners and Head Office teams.
M&S operates a large number of stores in different overseas markets and territories. As a leading global brand, one of their key objectives is to provide high standards and consistency within the customer experience in every store.
Our brief was to develop a dynamic e-learning platform to showcase best practice VM and store presentation and demonstrate how to apply the M&S brand values and VM principles within different store formats.
Previous VM communication methods had relied on printed materials, which were becoming fast outdated by new forms of interactive media tools. Combined with the company's ambitious Plan A objectives, it meant a paper-free solution was required.
Working with the Marks & Spencer International VM team and their online and web partners, Visual Thinking created a user-friendly communication and training tool which would work within a dedicated area of the M&S website.
Featuring powerful graphics, the platform is a visually-led screen-based solution that is also printable in-store. The design incorporates the latest online technology, utilising a combination of interactive 360° motion photography and still images, with voiceover training modules to accompany key sections of the site.
With fieldwork in Dubai and production in the UK delivered over a period of six months, the project was successfully completed on time and on budget, and has been positively received by managers and staff, who find it a highly effective and engaging tool for their needs.
Importantly, content is easily updatable for international translations. It also integrates best practice information with other Visual Thinking-produced implementation and learning tools, developed earlier for the brand.
