Following earlier successful VM projects, Visual Thinking were asked by Matalan’s senior management team to lead a wide-ranging, store presentation innovation activity for the business.
Working in partnership with the in-house store development team and key suppliers, we developed a dynamic new model store concept, which introduced valuable improvements in store design, visual merchandising, display, POS and branding.
The result created an easier to shop, more inspirational store environment, and improved delivery of Matalan’s own label brands. And, as a big space value retailer, it strengthened customer perceptions about the product range, shopping experience and overall value for money credentials too.
After completing the activity, feedback has been extremely positive. More importantly, sales performance has exceeded all expectations, confirming the projects’ great commercial success.
It shows how projects to improve the look and feel of store presentation can make the numbers look a lot more attractive too.
