The agency’s founder, Karl is a renowned international retail consultant, leading industry media commentator and event speaker. He began championing the importance of effective brand delivery long before it became a hot topic among senior retail industry voices. Trusted by global brands to deliver retail development, learning and visual merchandising initiatives that transform the shopping experience, he’s spent the last 25 years advising brands across the UK, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and South East Asia.

Recognised as a true change agent, Stuart’s highly skilled at implementing plans to improve process solutions for the benefit of internal and external customers alike. A senior member of the management team, he leads the agency's central services function. Put simply, Stuart works to make us more efficient, focused and effective. Behind every client project success is a dedicated support team, making his ability to embed compliance and continuous improvement from within absolutely vital.

Tina Emerson
Learning & Development Manager
There are few with Tina’s breadth of experience in L&D strategy, team training and performance coaching. In a career spanning more than 25 years, she has held various senior management positions across private, public and charitable sectors. But her heart is, and has always remained, firmly in retail. Known for her practical, intelligent and holistic approaches to change management and people development, she’s highly skilled at driving team engagement - combining genuine depth, emotional intelligence, and realistic optimism, to secure buy in at all levels.

18 years retail experience has seen Kirsty deliver instore success for the likes of Marks & Spencer, Thomas Cook, Big W and Monsoon, at national and regional levels. She’s been with Visual Thinking since 2007 – developing and managing a host of VM implementation and new training projects, everywhere from Australia to the Middle East, as well as closer to home. Her expertise in VM project planning and delivery, coaching and developing retail teams, store design and retail marketing is invaluable, with an approach that is both creative and consistent.

Lisa Lawson

Lisa came to us after more than two decades with one of the biggest names in UK general merchandise retailing. While there, she created and delivered VM strategy to support commercial objectives, during the most evolutionary period in its history. Since arriving here, she’s worked on several high profile transformational retail projects, locally and internationally. Ruthlessly efficient, her 'deliver excellence' mentality regularly sees her developing minimum store standard projects that bring visible improvements to brands, shoppers and the bottomline.

Helen Bonser

Helen brings a distinctive creative flair to her work. Not to mention a wealth of experience in retail head office, field and store-based operation roles spanning over 18 years, for the likes of Marks & Spencer, French Connection, Ann Summers, H&M…the list goes on. Today, she’s a regular on many of our biggest client projects. Blending an imaginative, logical and structured approach, with a warm, personable style, she’s worked on countless retail VM implementation, training and development projects across Europe including Hungary, Poland and Greece.

Suzanne Tanner
Senior Retail Project Manager
Having previously worked for two of the UK’s biggest retailers, John Lewis and Marks & Spencer, Suzanne’s wealth of instore experience is integral to helping our clients achieve better brand delivery instore. With over 15 years’ retail experience, she’s highly skilled in coaching and inspiring visual teams to grasp and successfully land VM improvement programmes. Suzanne loves the challenge a new brief brings, no matter how big. Astute, confident and solutions-focused, she starts every project with a 'expect excellence' mentality.

As well as her friendly and engaging approach, Katy brings a vast amount of instore experience to the Visual Thinking team. Over a 16-year career, she has been responsible for implementing VM strategy for numerous big name retail brands – from Gap and Tommy Hilfiger, to a European-wide role with Ralph Lauren. Skilled in styling, product placement and creative display, she’s now kept busy helping our clients stay ahead of the curve with their instore product presentation – developing supporting retail guidelines and the VM skills of store teams, along the way.

Recently, Lou’s been helping an iconic British brand launch its new Japanese flagship store, and improve instore presentation delivery closer to home. She brings a wealth of VM experience to our team – 26 years to be exact. From spearheading the rollout of Matalan’s VM Academy, to VM Commercial Manager with M&S. Her work regularly sees her involved in creating and implementing VM policy for new format and concept stores. When not doing that, she’s busy helping visual teams to become more engaged and capable, unlocking improvements in team performance and visual operations.
