DSGNLAB is a proudly independent creative agency. The sister-agency of Visual Thinking, its small team of designers collaborate to create outstanding work, with a passion for creativity and meticulous detail.
We are now offering an unmissable new opportunity for an ambitious, capable and versatile Graphic Designer with proven studio experience to join us working on varied and exciting client briefs.
A talented and highly motivated designer, you’ll be someone that gives it their all. In return we’ll give you a springboard into a stimulating and rewarding role in graphic design with a friendly team who are building a great name, through great work.
You’ll have ideas: big ones, creative and carefully considered ones, and lots of them. But we’re not just after an ideas person. We need someone who can turn them into outstanding design work – taking forward high-profile creative projects, including work for major retailers and big name consumer brands through our parent agency, Visual Thinking.
You’ll need to be skilled and confident in a range of essential design skills, full of creative ideas and comfortable to share your thoughts, willing to learn and absorb from others’ experience. The studio is well equipped, with a relaxed informal style and a high energy, quality driven approach. We aim high, and work ‘smart and hard’ to be the best.
Alongside the creative project briefs, you’ll also work on some basic tasks too, so you’ll be equally happy to work on simple artworking jobs. An eye for detail and precision is a must, along with a sense of drive and pride in your work.
About the role:
- Identify and develop innovative creative ideas, concepts and new design solutions in response to client briefs
- Progress design concepts, sample layouts and creative elements based on the application of imaginative and successful established aesthetic design and layout principles for final use in both digital and print applications
- Introduce trend driven ideas and new creative solutions into your work, to innovate our outputs and client solutions
- Manage time and budgetary needs. Highly organised, methodical and efficient at ‘studio admin’ requirements.
With a related graphics degree or equivalent, you’ll have good general written and verbal communication skills, a lively personality and a drive to succeed. We work to tight deadlines, so you’ll thrive under pressure. You’ll enjoy taking a project brief all the way through from start to finish, and take responsibility for all stages. Bringing strong organisational and time management skills to the role, along with your own creative ideas, you’ll be willing to listen to and act upon constructive feedback.
You’ll have a good understanding of design within a digital context and be a skilled Mac user in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat. Confidence in 3D visualisation using Sketchup would be a bonus along with knowledge on Microsoft Office PowerPoint. Some knowledge of basic print processes would be beneficial.
Occasionally you may need to work hours that aren’t typical, so we’re looking with someone with a flexible approach. This role is based at our studio in rural Northamptonshire, so you’ll need your own transport to get to work each day.
